Chatyl Brown is not just an esthetician but also one of the hottest designers rising in Chicago. Raised by a single mother, Chatyl grew up rocking homemade creations that her mother stitched together for her and her brother. As a child, Chatyl had no interest in the mechanics of fashion, but loved the colors and images she saw around her.  She tried to reign in her creativity, but it was hard for her to balance her vision with the rigor (and boredom) of a classroom.  After watching her mother sew for years, she decided to take a stab at creating clothes for herself, and the gentle hum and vibration of the sewing machine had her hooked. Her first creation was a denim dress, cobbled together denim scraps she had found around the house. Since 2013, Chatyl has been creating custom frocks for friends, family and a bunch of strangers who think her clothes are dope. In January 2017, she hosted her first fashion show called, “Seasons of Fashion: Threads by Chatyl B”. Since then her clientele has exploded through word of mouth and social media.
